You might be surprised to find out that Niagara Falls isn’t officially recognized as a modern wonder, as I was after growing up in Niagara. But, it has been considered by many people as an unofficial 8th wonder due to its incredible beauty and power.

No, Niagara Falls is not one of the Wonders of the World. BUT it is one of the 7 natural wonders of North America. It is also considered an unofficial 8th wonder of the world.
The other natural wonders of North America include the Grand Canyon, the Bay of Fundy, Denali, the Redwoods, Sistema Sac Actun, Yosemite National Park, and Yellowstone Park.
I’ve kayaked in the Bay of Fundy and stood among the Redwoods, but still have to visit the rest of this list!

Why Niagara Falls is not in the 7 Wonders of the World is not really clear. It’s mixed opinions depending on who you ask. It’s sometimes considered natural and other times it’s considered to have been made with the help of man.
Whether it’s on a list or not, Niagara Falls is a great place to visit and I love visiting the Falls whenever I can.
